My brother's peculiar chicken

 

It is about two brothers who can't identify if the chicken is a girl (hen) or boy (rooster) and I will talk about a story
written by Alejandro Roces called "My brother's peculiar chicken". 

In a scene, two roosters are fighting in a cockpit is called "sabong" here in the Philippines. It is quite popular here the reason why the roosters are fighting, it's because that people did it for money. I don't like it though it may be entertaining but I don't like the idea as As I heard most cockfighting activities are illegal.

The Teniente del barrio in the story is the oldest and wisest man in the village, he is also a chief but there's also another man who is "Teniente del barrio" and a chief! he is "cabeza del barangay" a chief and leader of barrio. I can see why The Teniente del barrio is the chief and from my prescriptive he looks wise. 

Table manners are important, and no manners at the table is seen disrespectful. especially that scene where kiko and his brother fighting at the table with no manners, that is the reason why their mother was angry at the two brothers. Praying before eating is also part of the Filipino culture. In my opinion it's important to have good manners.

In conclusion, I want to remind you all to appreciate our culture, traditions and the history beneath this story. Of course, we couldn't forget a lesson to learn, remember not to fight with someone with a different thought or opinion, instead try to respect it.
